Folkwear Basics Pants

Buy the Basics Pants sewing pattern from Folkwear. These simple, elastic-waist pants are incredibly comfortable. Easy to sew and easy to wear, they feature a high-rise waist and front pockets with a pocket flap detail that is fun to embellish (add embroidery or buttons!). Make these in a crisp cotton for work, twill for gardening, or soft flannel for lounging. This pattern is also an ideal ‘first pair of pants’ for sewists.

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?

Note if purchasing copy shop printing: Some pattern pieces are divided across two A0 sheets. The A0 sheets will need to be joined with no overlap. 

Suggested fabrics: Light to medium weight fabrics such as linen, flannel, gabardine, twill, lightweight denim.

Fabric requirements: Yardages given are with or without nap, pile, or one-way design.

45″ (115 cm) wide fabric: 2 3/8 - 3 7/8 yd (2.2 - 3.5 m) // 60″ (150 cm) wide fabric: 2 - 2 3/4 yd (1.8 - 2.5 m).

Sizing: XS – 3XL (approx. UK 4/6 – 28/30, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Thread; 23" - 46" (58 - 116 cm) length of 1" (2.5 cm) wide elastic for waist.

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; US letter/A4 print-at-home pattern (35 pages); 36″ wide copy shop pattern (1 sheet); A0 copy shop pattern (2 sheets).
